FISHING

The Stewart Family welcomes you to Lake Rousseau RV and Fishing Resort in sunny Citrus County, Florida!  If you love to catch fish (especially big bass) you’ve found an angler's heaven and a new place to call home.  Lake Rousseau boasts largemouth bass catches in the 3- to 12-lb. range, and fishing guide reports have recorded 90 bass over 10 pounds caught and released in these waters in recent times.  From our boat ramp or boat docks you can access prime fishing spots quickly, ensuring that you get more time on the water. We provide RV sites, a bait and tackle shop in our camp store, a boat launch, boat slip rentals, and canoe rentals for your convenience. And if you need a professional guide service, we know some of best guides on the lake!

The lake produces good numbers of large mouth bass, crappie, stumpknockers, bluegill, and catfish east of the Inglis Dam; you can also fish for saltwater species on the west side of the dam. The Withlacoochee Riverchannel runs through Lake Rousseau from Dunnellon in the east to the Inglis dam in the west, continuing beyond the dam into the Gulf of Mexico.  You can navigate the channel upstream to the confluence of the Rainbow and Withlacoochee Rivers, where the crystal-clear spring water of the Rainbow meets the tannic water of the Withlacoochee. These two rivers feed dam-controlled Lake Rousseau with an abundant supply of fresh water.

Two miles downriver from our park, you can launch your boat at the dam and head out to the Gulf via the lower Withlacoochee River; you can also reach the Gulf via public boat launches in nearby Yankeetown. Saltwater or fresh, we've got it all! The only thing we don't have is no-see-ums (a pesky cousin of the mosquito)!

When on the lake, remember: Safety First! Lake Rousseau is one of the few man-made lakes in Florida and is full of submerged stumps. These stumps provide excellent cover for fish, but can be dangerous when struck at higher speeds, so do your traveling in the channel.

Whether it's for a day, a week, or the season, you'll be glad you came!
